Wendy's Easy Street, step 3.

Hi there, just posting up Wendy's progress on her Easy Street mystery. She is out of town for the week but had a bit of free time to jump in and get all of her fabric cut for step 3. She even managed to follow my horrible text directions and make the block without using the angle ruler and we didn't have to sew any triangle pieces. SEW happy. Here is a picture of her fun bright colors! And of course Wendy is ahead of me and she isn't even out for the week!

Courtney's Easy Street progress.

I guess it is my turn to post my progress finally. I am always one step behind but that is ok. My "easy street" quilt is made out of flannels that my quilting friend Barb from Utah gave me. These are her leftover scraps she has saved and gifted to me. I LOVE scraps. Wendy and I had a rule for this project we had to use what we had. We had to make one side rule and allow a slight purchase. I had to buy the constant and allowed myself to buy 4 fat quarters, so with shipping it came to under $25. :) Wendy also gifted me some flannel she found in her stash also. My colors are blue for my constant, creamy golds and similar tones for my background, and then i have reds/burgundys, browns, and greens. I hope it works up well and is worth eating all that flannel fuzz!
This is the stash I had from barb well at least the majority of it. I sorted out the flannels and sorted out the colors so I knew what I had to work with and then assigned the colors to the quilt merely on what I had the most of etc to fit the pattern.
progress on my step 1. I think I was planning out my "random". LOL
Progress started on step 2.
This is what I have done as of 12/6/12. I have all of step 1 completed. I have about half of step 2 done. I don't have the rulers she asked us to use so I have to use an alternate more time consuming method. It's ok, it gives me practice which I dearly need with triangles, they are not my favorite thing to sew. Step 3 has posted and wendy and I are like kids in a candy store and wish we didn't have to work so we could just go home to play with our fabrics but that will come soon enough. :)

Wendy's Easy Street Progress.

Wendy is well on her way on her Easy Street Quilt. It is always a game of cat and mouse and I am always behind trying to catch up! Oh well, all is fun. Here are some pictures of her fabric and steps 1 and 2.
Here is Wendy's fabric she is going with yellows and blacks and purple and greens.
Another picture to show you her fun fabrics.
Wendy's step 1 completed.
A pile of her step 2's.
A little bit of both. I think she wishes everyday was friday so she could get the next step on the quilt. She is a machine when she gets going. :)

Easy Street

Wendy and I are starting on "easy street", a mystery quilt by Bonnie Hunter. Wendy is using some fun fabric she has acquired from her family friends and I am making mine an ode to Barb. My friend Barb in Midway has been saving me scraps. She LOVES flannel, so that is what we get flannel. :) Wendy and I were allowed to buy a limited amount of fabric. I bought the constant for the quilt which was 2 yds and 4 fat quarters. Wendy has also shopped her stash for me and has sent me some fabric I should be getting this week. I will post more pictures and our progress as we make it. Step 1 has been given and she has finished hers and I am still waiting on my fabric! Hurry mail man hurry! (PS sally you should join us!)

I made this quilt top for charity for the guild in Midway, UT. I don't like the colors very well.
This a block I made for a friend in Utah, we are doing a friendship block swap. Every month I have to make a different block for a different lady.
This was for another woman in Utah for my friendship block from the month before.
This was a block that was for last year for a lady in Heber Utah, it is tulips. I kind of like the fabrics they are bright and fun.

Pictures post 1.

I found this outside when I was talking to Chloe on the phone.
This is Chloe and Eli's favorite store. This is the store I go to in Rapid City.

Here is baby Sophie when I saw her in March.
My buddy Eli all worn out and taking a nap.
Chloe and me acting silly on the way to look for dresses for Aunt Katie's wedding.
