Courtney's Easy Street progress.

I guess it is my turn to post my progress finally. I am always one step behind but that is ok. My "easy street" quilt is made out of flannels that my quilting friend Barb from Utah gave me. These are her leftover scraps she has saved and gifted to me. I LOVE scraps. Wendy and I had a rule for this project we had to use what we had. We had to make one side rule and allow a slight purchase. I had to buy the constant and allowed myself to buy 4 fat quarters, so with shipping it came to under $25. :) Wendy also gifted me some flannel she found in her stash also. My colors are blue for my constant, creamy golds and similar tones for my background, and then i have reds/burgundys, browns, and greens. I hope it works up well and is worth eating all that flannel fuzz!
This is the stash I had from barb well at least the majority of it. I sorted out the flannels and sorted out the colors so I knew what I had to work with and then assigned the colors to the quilt merely on what I had the most of etc to fit the pattern.
progress on my step 1. I think I was planning out my "random". LOL
Progress started on step 2.
This is what I have done as of 12/6/12. I have all of step 1 completed. I have about half of step 2 done. I don't have the rulers she asked us to use so I have to use an alternate more time consuming method. It's ok, it gives me practice which I dearly need with triangles, they are not my favorite thing to sew. Step 3 has posted and wendy and I are like kids in a candy store and wish we didn't have to work so we could just go home to play with our fabrics but that will come soon enough. :)

  3. Flannel can be a pain to work with, can't it? You have great fabrics, I'll bet it will be cozy when it's done.
